The Wellington Dukes made the long trip to Hamilton to take on the Red Wings and the visitors could not have been accused of having bus legs as they jumped out to a 3 to 0 lead before the game was five minutes old. The much improved home team refused to roll over and closed the gap to just one by the end of the middle frame before the Dukes scored a pair of powerplay markers in the third period.
Scoring was well spread out with six different players bulging the twine: Steven Deeg, Patrick Kudla (his first Junior A goal), Parker Wood, Abbott Girduckis, Joe McKeown (powerplay) and Spencer Turcotte. Setting up a pair of goals each were Luc Brown and Mike Soucier with single helpers going to Trevor Cope, Kyle Paat, Erick Delaurentis, Cody Gratton, Trevor Abbot (his first Junior A point) and Kudla. Picking up his fourth win of the season in net was Lucas Machalski who faced 31 shots.
The Dukes are right back at it as they host the Stouffville Spirit on Friday with a 7:30 PM puck drop.
