Joe McKeown lifted the xWellington Dukes to a 4-2 victory with a hat trick against the xNorth York Rangers.
McKeown’s first goal came 4:51 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:37 into the third and at 19:34 into the third.
xWellington also got points from Andrew McCann, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for xWellington came via Chad Thibodeau, Andrew Coupland, Trevor Cope, Josh Supryka, Abbott Girduckis, Austin Broadhurst, and Steven Deeg, who contributed one a piece.
xNorth York stifled xWellington’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.
The Rangers were helped by John Carpino, who grabbed one goal. Carpino scored on the power play 1:13 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Liam Kerins assisted on the tally. xNorth York additionally got points from Kerins, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, xNorth York received assists from Patrick Piacentini, Gabriel Valenzuela, and Kyle Thacker, who each chipped in one.
Tyson Teichmann recorded 24 saves for the Dukes. xWellington incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. xNorth York’s Jason Pucciarelli stopped 18 shots out of the 21 that he faced. The Rangers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
