TWO FORMER DUKES BRING HOME GOLD AT WINTER WORLD UNIVERSITY GAMES

The Winter World University Games ended today in Trentino, Italy as Canada defeated Kazakhstan by a score of 6 to 2 to capture the Gold Medal.  Two former Wellington Dukes goaltenders played for the mens hockey team.

Wayne Savage played for the Dukes in the 2003-04 season helping the team to reach the East Division Finals before moving on to play in the OHL.  He is currently attending the University of Prince Edward Island located in Charlottetown.

Anthony Peters played for Wellington in the 2006-07 season helping the team reach the OJHL Finals.  After playing in the OHL he is now attending St. Mary’s University located in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
