Dukes bring experienced assistant coach on board

Along with acquiring two defencemen, the Wellington Dukes made a big move behind their bench to add some extra experience.
The team announced the addition of Brian MacKenzie to the coaching staff on Thursday.
Brian joins the Dukes family after spending four successful seasons as an Assistant GM/Assistant Coach with the Whitby Fury/Haliburton County Huskies.
Involved in hockey for over 25+ years, he has coached, managed, and mentored at all levels as well as held the position as an area scout in the Ontario Hockey League with the Plymouth Whalers (2002-2007).
During that period they captured an OHL Championship and represented the league at the 2007 MasterCard Memorial Cup in Vancouver.
Following his time in Plymouth, he spent the following three seasons as area scout with the Sarnia Sting of the OHL
Brian brings a passion and commitment to his players and each organization he represents.
He strongly believes in proper player mentorship, support, and development.
His extensive and widespread coaching experience has provided countless opportunities to coach, develop and mentor many past and present players representing the NHL, AHL,NCAA & CIS/USports.
