Another tough loss for the Wellington Dukes on Friday.
They were steamrolled by a surging Pickering Panthers team 7-2 at Lehigh Arena, who won their fifth game in a row.
Joseph Cadorin and Blake Wright found the net in the first to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead, before Wellington closed the gap with two powerplay goals in the second frame.
Jared McNeil scored on a rebound from Sacha Trudel and Riley Noble, sandwich another Cadorin goal with a Jayden Levesque tally from Ryan Schaap and Zander Latreille.
McNeil’s goal was his 19th of the season while Levesque registered his 16th.
Pickering turned on the jets in the third, scoring four unanswered markers to run away with the victory through Darren Wilson, Quinn Binnie, William Stewart and Wright.
Dario Cantini made 23 saves in the defeat as Wellington outshot Pickering 34-30.
The Dukes will try and snap out of their current funk with a 7:30 Saturday game against the Aurora Tigers.
