The Wellington Dukes, proud members of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), are excited to announce that graduating forward Zander Latreille has committed to NCAA Division 3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals for the 2025-26 season.
The overage forward from Windsor, Ontario was the longest serving member of the Dukes this past season where he registered 55 points (12G,43A) in 54 games. For his Dukes career, he had a combined 102 points (25G,77A) in 127 games.
“I am very excited to announce my commitment to play hockey at SUNY Plattsburgh in the fall” said Latreille when commenting on his commitment. “I would like to thank my family, coaches and teammates who have guided and supported me along the way. Special thanks to the Dukes organization and community for making these past three years so special!”
Wellington Dukes Head Coach/GM Kent Lewis spoke very highly of his graduating forward and noted that Plattsburgh State is not only getting a very good player but a great person. “Zander was a great player to coach during his time with the Dukes. He is also a quality person on and off the ice! We are very excited to learn of his commitment to Plattsburgh State where he will continue his development as a player and grow as a person. We wish Zander all the best at the next level.”
Latreille becomes the 2nd member of the 2024-25 Wellington Dukes team this season to secure a college commitment following Cory Jewitt’s commitment to Waterloo University. He is also the first member of the Dukes to commit to Plattsburgh State since former goaltender Eli Shiller.
