The Wellington Dukes took care of business in Caledon on Sunday with a 10-1 thrashing of the Admirals.
Every Wellington player except for two contributed on the scoresheet, with Luke LaPalm leading the way with four points.
Jacob Vreugdenhil and Luke Strickland got things started with goals 1:15 apart in the first frame, but it wasn’t until Daniel Nau’s shorthanded goal cut the lead in half early in the second that the Dukes truly broke away.
The Dukes strung together eight unanswered goals, four in each of the second and third periods to win going away.
The goals came from Strickland, Edward Moskowitz (with two), Ryan Smith, Matheson Mason, Jared Langdon, LaPalm and JH Lages.
Ethan Morrow made 23 stops for his second victory of the weekend.
The win rounds out a successful three-game weekend, which saw the Dukes take five out of a possible six points versus the rival Trenton Golden Hawks and league-leading Toronto Jr. Canadiens.
The Dukes are now 32-11-3-2 on the season with 69 points, as they head into another divisional matchup with the Cobourg Cougars at home at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
