The Dukes clung to period leads of 1 to 0 and 2 to 1 before scoring three powerplay markers in the third period to make the final score 5 to 1 for the home side. First Star and Hardest Working Player of the Game Trevor Cope led the way with two goals plus a pair of assists for a four point evening. Second Star Erick Delaurentis and Steven Deeg each had a goal and an assist while Mike Robinson scored his first as a Duke which turned out to be the game winner.
Defensive Player of the Game Chad Thibodeau and Joe McKeown each had a pair of assists while other helpers went to Jacob Panetta and Kyle Paat. Goaltender Tyson Teichmann picked up the win in net facing 26 shots to see his GAA drop to 2.19, second best in the OJHL while his .935 save percentage now has him first in the league.
The Dukes travel to Cobourg on Monday to take on the Cougas with a 7:00 PM puck drop.
