The Wellington Dukes are back on the winning track with a 4-1 victory over the Stouffville Spirit at Lehigh Arena on Friday night.

Multiple points from Zack Carrier, Logan Sitlani, and Ethan Murray and 32 saves from Jacob Brown helped the Dukes rebound from a tough loss on Sunday in Toronto.

All four of those skaters accounted for the Wellington goals, with Tyler Tsoukalas bouncing in a rebound off a Sitlani shot for his fourth of the year to start the scoring at 3:48.

Murray added the second assist.

Sitlani then beat Stouffville goalie Kyle Downey himself with a hard shot through traffic from the left faceoff circle at 8:18 for his third of the season from Jared McNeil and Carrier.

Both of those markers came on a powerplay.

Brown’s only blemish came about three-and-a-half minutes into the second, when Evan Breckles completed a cross-seam pass to Riley Pope on a two-on-one rush to cut Wellington’s lead in half.

The two-goal advantage was quickly re-established after Carrier pounced on a bouncing puck at his blueline, went in alone and cleaned up his own rebound for his seventh of the season.

Cory Jewitt and Kyle Kavc drew assists.

Carrier then connected with Ben Vreugdenhil and Murray in the third to give the Orangeville product his 12th of the season and his fifth straight game with at least one marker.

Final shots favoured Stouffville 33-26, with Brown earning first star honours for his stellar net performance in giving Wellington its fourth straight home win.

Wellington is now 16-9 as it continues its busy weekend with a road game in Mississauga against the Chargers at 7:45 p.m. Saturday.
